The photos above are from a free workshop I held for Runner's Route's run group. I took them through the components of my return to run assessment to identify key areas that runners need to master to ensure efficient and optimal run form.
I am passionate about moving my body in any way I choose for as long as humanly possible.
I am passionate about helping people that have that similar goal in life.
When I became pregnant with Adam, I never wanted to stop moving and doing all the things I love. I was very happy that my body allowed me to stay as active as I was - I ran until my 8th month of pregnancy and until he arrived, I continued to rock climb safely (mostly on rope), hike, do headstands, and weight lift. It was truly empowering being able to do all those things and carry life inside of me. It kept not only my body in good shape but also my mental health!
However, my body told me otherwise in my 9th month of pregnancy. I started to feel symptoms while running that weren’t there before and ultimately my body was finally telling my brain, “slow down.” So, I had to come to terms with this reality of no longer getting a good sweat in and no longer getting my heart rate up the same way. Then at 6 weeks postpartum… I [slowly] began to run again!
It was almost 3 months of true deconditioning and I felt every bit of it.
At the time I am writing this, I am 9 weeks postpartum and I am happily regaining the strength and endurance to run without complications (other than lack of stamina but I’m getting it!!)
However, my journey to returning to running does not involve just running! I had to regain the strength and mobility I lost during those 3 months of not running. I want to guide you, help you, and show you how to do that. Everyone’s journey to returning to running is different and I want to tailor your program.
I want to help you regain the confidence to run again.
I want to help people that aren’t feeling right in their body anymore and are losing the joy of the run.
I want to bring that joy back to you!
I help people that truly want to resolve old injuries, prevent new injuries, and stay active to avoid medication, injections, and surgery. If this is you, let's work together! Schedule a call with me today in the link below.
