Hi!
I'm Adrienne Kawabata
Your Physical Therapist here in Hawaii.
I help runners and active adults move better, build strength, and get back to the activities they love—without pain holding them back.
Whether you're a runner, a busy parent, professional, or just someone who wants to feel good in their body again, my goal is simple:
to help you move well now and keep you moving for life.

Before anything else,
I'm a mom to two boys.
I understand what it's like to juggle responsibilities, deal with physical stress, and still want to show up fully for the things (and people) that matter most.
That role has shaped how I care for every single person I work with.
That's why I don't just treat injuries— I help you build a body that supports your life.

I've been in your shoes — literally.
I’m passionate about staying active for life—and helping others do the same.
During my own pregnancy and postpartum journey, I experienced firsthand how quickly your body can change—and how important it is to rebuild strength the right way. That experience shaped how I help my patients return to activity safely and confidently.
I want to guide you, help you, and show you how to do that so you can stay moving strong throughout your life.

Staying active has always been a big part of who I am.
You'll usually find me running, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, or exploring the outdoors here in Hawaii.
Because I live an active lifestyle myself, I truly understand the frustration of being sidelined by pain, and how important it is to get back to doing what you love.
Born on Oahu. Trained at the highest level. Back home for you.
I left Hawaii to pursue my doctorate of physical therapy degree and became residency trained in Orthopedics. I returned home to bring an elevated level of care to the local people of Hawaii.
Over the years, I’ve developed advanced skills in:
-
Strength-based rehab
-
Movement analysis
-
Manual therapy
-
Injury prevention & recovery
-
Spine & Extremity treatments
-
Dry Needling
-
Vestibular Rehab
-
Persistent Pain Management
-
Post-surgical care

No quick fixes. No cookie-cutter programs. Just real results.
I help active adults overcome injuries, prevent them from coming back, and build a strong foundation so they can stay active for life.Every session is one-on-one and tailored specifically to you—so you’re not just feeling better temporarily, you’re actually moving better long-term.
I encompass a holistic way of treating each person. I believe in the interdependence of of our bodily systems and I have extensive training in orthopedics, exercise prescription, differential diagnosis, manual therapy, and treatment of our complex neuro-musculoskeletal system.
That’s why I’ve built my practice around one-on-one, personalized care—so you get the time, attention, and results you deserve..
Pain is not one-size-fits-all—
and your care shouldn't be either.
Your body, your history, and your goals are unique.
I'm passionate about getting you stronger and healthier, so you can avoid injury, unnecessary meds, injections and surgeries and stay active throughout your life.
I love empowering my patients with the knowledge of how to treat themselves. You'll never feel dependent on me. Instead, you'll leave each session knowing:
What's happening in your body
What to do about it

How to stay pain-free long-term
Giving back to the Hawaii community.
Helping people goes beyond the clinic walls for me.
I've had the joy of hosting free community workshops — including a return-to-run session for Runner's Route's run group here in Honolulu, where I walked runners through a movement assessment to help them run stronger and safer.

Getting you out of pain is just the first step.
Keeping it away and continuing to move better long-term is my mission
This is why I've designed a maintenance program after you've finished your physical therapy sessions.
The people I help typically don’t want to be dependent on pain medications – they want to avoid surgery at all costs and want to be healthy, mobile, and strong for the rest of their life.
They want to find accurate and useful information that is relevant to them. I will be that person to provide sound and accurate information.
